81. Building Bridges For Honest Sex Ed Talks (including Puberty Talks)

n the last episode of the Puberty Prof Podcast, Dr. Dalmacio Dennis Flores noted common communication barriers existing between parents and their children when it comes to talking about human sexuality, including puberty. In this episode, Dr. Flores returns and provides recommendations for removing these barriers and creating “bridges” in communication. Recommendations include talking before the “expiration date,” remembering that being asked questions are expressions of trust, gently ask what they are asking about, realizing you don’t have to know everything, and using teachable moments.
